Dili, May 31, 2019 (Lusa) – The Timorese state has executed 31.9% of the State Budget for this year, according to the Transparency Portal of the Ministry of Finance of Timor-Leste.
Budget Execution by End of May
In the first five months of the year, the state had executed $387.45 million, with commitments of $122.13 million and obligations of $85 million, according to the same source.
Revenue Performance
On the revenue side, the Government collected by the end of May some $107.67 million, or 45.8% of the total budgeted for the year, which amounts to approximately $198.55 million.
The Timorese National Directorate of Domestic Taxes, which raised $23.17 million, and the National Customs Directorate, with approximately $26.95 million, represent the main sources of domestic revenue. These figures reflect Timor-Leste’s ongoing efforts to strengthen fiscal management and reduce dependence on petroleum fund withdrawals as part of broader economic development goals.
