Atkoma 2021 Mid-Year Report

ATKOMA's 2021 mid-year report covering revenue earned through guided tours, the Ataúro Visitor Contribution Fee, and progress toward long-term organizational sustainability.

Despite the difficulties of 2021, ATKOMA is pleased to report that the organization has earned $500 in revenue over the first half of the year through the provision of guided tours and other services. This funding goes directly into supporting the management and marketing of tourism on the island.

Progress Toward Sustainability

With the continued support of the USAID Tourism for All Project, ATKOMA continues to focus on ensuring the long-term sustainability of the organization. Key initiatives undertaken in 2021 include:

  • Training new tour guides to expand service capacity
  • Implementing the Ataúro Visitor Contribution Fee
  • Encouraging staff to operate on a commission-based model

Through these efforts, ATKOMA has generated over $500 from guest fees and tours, marking meaningful progress toward becoming a more self-sustaining organization.
